A garden that even the most restless of people cant help but stop and stay.

This garden is still very much in its concept stage. What it does have is a lush back drop, tall mature trees line its perimeter creating an idyllic spot. No beds yet and only the bare outline exists. What I want it to be, exists only in my imagination.

Oasis of Tranquility

Cool and quiet, this section is completely surrounded by mature trees, you don't know its there at all.

Its nothing but grass and weeds now, but I have managed to do some planting up under the deck area. It will need to look good from different angles, both on the ground and above. Cool and quiet, this section is completely surrounded by mature trees, you don't know its there at all.

In My Minds Eye

Close your eyes and imagine a place lush with green growth, bold reds, oranges and pinks that catch your eye. A path leads you down, low green growth tickles your ankles. Stepping over a pebble stream opening onto a bright clearing, a small patch of grass welcomes you to sit and reflect next to a glittering pond. A little deck with built in seats surrounds a fire pit off into the corner surrounded by Cannas, Birds of Paradise and Hibiscus. Afternoon sun streams through the canopy highlighting the greens, purples and bright colours of the plants and flowers as they cascade down all around you. Sounds idyllic doesn't it? And thats what i want this place to be. A quiet peaceful place, a sanctuary were you can escape from the world and just be.

Practicality's

It will need some serious planning and work to get this project off the ground. We are yet to finish the hard landscaping - stairs, stepping stones, water feature and decking still to be built. Not to mention the amount of soil Ill need. A compost pile is already cooking. It will be a case of slowly but surely here. Perimeter shrubs need to go in so by the time I actually get to building some beds they will be well established.

As you slowly meander through the different rooms of the garden, the vegetation slowly changes and its story is revealed.

The Grand Design

Ive designed Haven Garden in such a way, that as you slowly meander through the different rooms of the garden, the vegetation slowly changes and its story is revealed. From the bright blowzy wild flowers and sunny meadow plantings of the country garden, through the wetland bush and Stumpery walk which gives you a hint of whats to come. And then the final destination, were the journey of the garden ends, your reward. Haven welcomes you to rest and stay for as long as you need. And when you recharged and ready to leave, hopefully with a smile on your face.
